Orange Bourbon Blossom
Orange Bourbon Blossom
Oscar Hernandez | Colombia
Orange Bourbon Blossom is a vibrant lot from Finca Los Nogales in Pitalito, Huila, grown by Oscar Hernandez with a clear focus on precise, sustainable farming.
Cultivated between 1,870 and 2,000 metres in rich volcanic soils and shaded by native trees, this Orange Bourbon undergoes an innovative washed process with thermal shock, where cherries are alternated between hot and cold water to lift natural sweetness and structure, followed by 120 hours of controlled anaerobic fermentation and 15 days of slow sun-drying on raised beds.
In the cup, it brings a captivating, fruit-forward profile of ripe papaya and orange, now sharpened by a distinctly herbal lift: lingering lemongrass notes that stay present from aroma through to the finish. That bright, green clarity is underpinned by silky papaya sweetness and a cacao-led body, landing into cocoa nibs and a sweet milk chocolate finish. The mouthfeel is silky yet clean, with a long, refined aftertaste that highlights both the character of the Orange Bourbon variety and Oscar’s meticulous processing - an unfiltered, modern expression of Colombian craftsmanship, and a clear example of how innovative processing and sustainable excellence can elevate a classic origin.
