Our story.
At Glass, we're deeply rooted in the ethos of transparency and ethics, the twin pillars we believe essential for a better food and drink industry. Our mission? Enlightening your food and beverage choices by offering meticulously sourced, fully traceable products and revealing the compelling stories behind them.
Glass Coffee start.
Our journey began with Carlo, our founder. Born and raised in Brazil, Carlo's lifelong passion for coffee sparked an interest in understanding more about the food and drink he consumed. This curiosity led him to realise that the entire industry lacked transparency.
Fast forward through the years, after graduating from the University of Warwick, Carlo established Glass - a company resolutely dedicated to radical transparency, traceability, and exceptional specialty coffee. Our commitment is to weave an intricate network of connections, binding
farmers, consumers, and us, while championing sustainable, ethical sourcing and trade.
Our vision.
Transparency as Trust:
We're firm believers in knowledge as power. In an era of complex and obscure supply chains, understanding the social and environmental impact of our food choices becomes daunting. Transparency at Glass isn't just an option - it's our currency for trust.
Promoting Traceability:
Traceability stands out as a vital element in our journey towards sustainability. Without it, how can we truly understand the ramifications of our consumption on people and our planet?
Beyond Sustainable Practices:
Our mission isn't just about promoting ethical and sustainable practices. It also encompasses the assurance that these claims are verifiable, giving you absolute confidence in every sip and bite.
The Way Forward:
We're embarking on a transformative journey to alleviate concerns related to food and drink choices. We envisage a world where transparency and sustainability are industry norms.
Our team.
To bring his vision to life, Carlo needed a team that shared his passion and ethos. During their studies at Warwick University, he found a like-minded ally in Lampros Sekliziotis, an electrical and computer engineer. Carlo's encounter with Konstantinos Dalkafoukis, a computer scientist and quantum enthusiast at the Geovation Hub, broadened the future vision of Glass, cementing the formation of a formidable team.
Together, they laid the groundwork for Glass, building a Minimum Valuable Product (MVP) that would become the backbone of our venture.
Along our journey, we've welcomed the likes of Andre Wang and Gregor
Tschurtschenthaler, who played invaluable roles in shaping our endeavour.
We must extend our heartfelt appreciation to Simone Musu, our inaugural senior barista. His unwavering dedication to exemplary customer service and his consistent reliability truly elevates the in-store experience at Glass.
